The Program

Learn to do fandom.

Twenty five years of Applied Fandom as a self-paced library for individuals and teams.
You build it with your human smarts, coached by intelligence we train.

How it runs

Hear it. Read it. Then do it.

Listen

Two or three minutes of Matt beside every part. The heart and the why.

Read

The Playbook section in full, on the page. The knowledge, not a summary of it.

Do

Load the Coach skill into your own AI and build it by hand, coached.

The Coach asks the questions, holds the method, keeps your language, and does not move on until the work is solid.

It never builds it for you. You learn to build your own fandom. The Program is you learning to steer. FandomOS is us steering with you.

The Program A, B, C

The Language, then the Playbook of three parts.

A

The Language as Handbook

The A to Z, included. Twenty six ideas, Audience to Zeitgeist. This part is absorptive. No build yet. You are learning the vocabulary every skill after it runs on.

The A to Z of Fandom, the language section of the Program A spread from the A to Z showing the spectrum from superfan to non fan, with the four behaviours along it: Fanatics, Enthusiasts, Casuals, Indifferents
B · Part One

CONE

Map your audiences by propensity - what they are already close to doing - not by demographics. Find your Fanatics, Enthusiasts, Casuals and Indifferents.

You come out holding: your own Fan Cone and Fan Map, built by your own hands.

A Fan Cone built in the CONE part of the Program A Fan Map built in the CONE part of the Program
B · Part Two

Applied

Run your Fan Cone and your read through creative methodologies to innovate new solutions, and put them to the test. Fan group by fan group, not sprayed at everyone.

You come out holding: a set of developed concepts, each one aimed at a behaviour you could name, ready for human test and learn.

Concepts aimed behaviour by behaviour, from the Applied part of the Program A worked example of an idea built for a named fan group
B · Part Three

Strategise

Choose the best fit route for what your brief is actually going after, and lay the plan across the year.

You come out holding: a strategy you could walk into a board meeting with.

A fan building strategy laid across the year The chosen fan building direction, set out for a board
